Read all of this section carefully before you start using Covonia Chesty Cough Sugar-Free Syrup. It includes other information which might be especially important for you. Always use this medicine exactly as described or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Recommended doses:

  • Adults and children over 2 years: Sprinkle a few drops onto a handkerchief and inhale the vapour as required

Warnings:

  • Avoid contact with the eyes
  • Avoid direct contact with the skin
  • Do not place directly into the nostrils
  • Do not swallow
  • Do not give to children under two years
  • If your symptoms persist you should ask your doctor for advice
  • If you swallow some: see a doctor straight away. Take the pack with you to show which medicine you have swallowed

Do not use the medicine if you or your child have…

  • An allergy to any of the ingredients listed
  • Or is under two years old

Pregnant or breastfeeding: Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Covonia Vapour Drops should not be used in pregnancy unless the doctor has told you to do so

Possible side effects:
Like all medicines, Covonia Vapour Drops can have side effects, although these don’t affect everyone.

  • Allergic reactions may occur, such as contact dermatitis and local skin irritation
    If you notice this or any other side effect not included above, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do

The active ingredients: menthol 17.5% w/v, peppermint oil 0.2% v/v

The other ingredients are: eucalyptus oil, cajuput oil (contains benzyl alcohol), spike lavender fragrance oil, industrial methylated spirit (contains ethanol)

Important information about some of the ingredients:

  • This medicine contains 69mg of alcohol (ethanol)per 3 droplets. The amount in 3 droplets of this medicine is equivalent to 2ml beer or 1ml wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects
  • This medicine contains 0.5%v/v benzyl alcohol. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions

  • Suitable for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs
  • Free from nuts, artificial flavours, artificial colours and sugar
